1878 English Memorial Card for a Mastiff Owned by a Lead Miner.

"This Card is a Tribute to the Memory of Wallace, A Noble Mastiff Dog, 
late in possession of William Niness, of Peak Forest Mines, That Died 
December 12th, 1878, Greatly lamented by its owner for its faithfulness 
and sagacity". The Peak Forest Mines were coal mines in Derbyshire and 
had been in production since Medieval times.

Single card. 4.5"x3". Some creases and wear, light soil.  $100
