Settled Monthly at Mines Store. Mr. C.Y. Bloom[handwritten] in account with
Chateaugay Ore & Iron Co., Mines Store, Dealers in General Merchandise.
Charges are posted in ink and in pencil on 14 pages of this pocket-size
ledger; some other pages were used for computation under the heading
"Meddeltoon den" [?]. Mines Store charges against C.Y. Bloom include:
boots, $4.00; 1/2 lb pepper, .25; 1 spool silk, .20; 2 box cinnamon, .25; 8
pencils, .06; Labor [credit], 37.43; 5 lbs beef, 1.25; 8 lbs coffee, 2.00;
putty, .10; roast, .98; 1/2 gal vinegar, .13; 5-1/2 lbs cheese, .88; 3 lbs
crackers, .30; 16 soups, .32; 2 lb loaf sugar, .30; lamp chimney, .10; 5
lbs rice, .63; lantern globe, .20; &c.; &c. 8.75" x 4" Good . Cloth-backed
printed boards.
