NOTIZIE. Firenze (Florence): David Passigli, 1846. First Edition. Two
large quarto volumes (10" x 13-1/2") bound in contemporary full dark
green morocco leather with raised bands and stamped gilt lettering to
the spines, the front and rear covers with elaborate ornamental designs
and red morocco onlays. Illustrated with a printed color extra title
page and 100 hand-colored plates depicting major figures and events of
Italian history, the text pages framed with ornate designs printed in
various colors. A handsome production with bright, colorful plates.
Nearly all tissue guards present, occasional light foxing to margins of
some plates but overall bright and clean. The bindings have some rubbing
and light edgewear, the second volume with a partial split to the front
joint and tear near the top of the spine. Very Good. (#018016) $2,500.00
