 From our new catalog:

ACERBI, Joseph. TRAVELS THROUGH SWEDEN, FINLAND, AND LAPLAND, TO THE
NORTH CAPE, IN THE YEARS 1798 AND 1799. London: Joseph Mawman, 1802.
First Edition. Two quarto (7-3/4" x 10") volumes in contemporary tree
calf leather with gilt-lettered red morocco spine labels. Illustrated
with 16 (of 17, lacking the folding map) engravings. Acerbi was an
Italian naturalist and composer. His record of travels in Scandinavia
describes the customs of the people and detailed observations on natural
history. Much of the second volume concerns Lapland where he visited
remote areas described here. Complete but for the map which remains only
as a fragment. Scattered staining and foxing but generally clean.
Bindings rubbed but the covers are tight. Very Good. (#017983)
