For your consideration:

Jos. Dépierre (chimiste)./Traité de la Teinture et de l’Impression des
Matières colorants artificielles. /Part 1: /Les Couleurs
d’Aniline./Paris: Béranger, 1903.Réimpression. Part 1 (of 5, issued over
a 12-year period), complete in itself. $275. + s/h (trade terms).

557p, several tables (some folding), and over 215 original textile
samples mounted in (ca. 3/4 x 3 inches). The samples show many different
colors and patterns on cotton, wool, and silk.A very few are a little
clipped; most are very good to fine, some with a little inevitable
fraying.Spaces for 4 samples (nos. 127, 142, 157, and 178) are present
but were left empty and are stamped “manqué” by the publisher.Original
brown cloth.Endpapers somewhat chipped; contemporary price label partly
removed from front endpaper; scattered light foxing; some page edges a
little chipped.Overall very good.

Very comprehensive French manual on the chemical composition and
manufacture of aniline dyes, and how to color and print fabric with
them.It is based on a German work, /Die Anilin-Farbstoffe/ by one
Kertesz. The main sections are arranged by color.
