IRVING, John. SETTING FREE THE BEARS. New York: Random House, (1968).
First Edition. Irving's scarce first book, this the issue in full red
cloth. There was also an issue with red cloth-backed boards with the
text bulking slightly larger. No priority has been proven, though the
number of cloth-backed copies seem to outnumber greatly the number in
full cloth. With a generic bookplate SIGNED by the author laid loosely
into the book. A very nice copy with very slight foxing to the endpapers
from the price-clipped dustwrapper which has two vertical creases to the
fore-edge of the front flap. About Fine in a Near Fine, beautifully
bright dustwrapper. (#005487) $1,500.00
