First edition; octavo; pp; 280, index; With frontispiece plus sixty illustrations from photographs taken on the Journey and from Drawings by Arthur Heming, folding map; gilt lettered pictorial gray cloth with a caribou at center board, blue coated endpapers; Internally very good, all plates and maps present, externally fair, the binding is silver fished; Notably this copy is signed by Elliott Coues at the top right of the title page and dated April, 1898. A note below the imprint states; “N.Y. Nation Copy - review written June 6, 1898”. It appears that the noted ornithologist and western historian had reviewed this work for the “Nation”.
