George Cruikshank: My Sketch Book. London: Published for the Artist, by Charles Tilt, [1834]. First edition thus.  Oblong 4to (27.5 x 8.75 cm) bound in full crimson calf by Bayntun of Bath with gilt borders, gilt-tooled spine and turn-ins, all page-edges gilt, marbled endpapers; with the printed title-page, engraved title and 24 leaves of plates (complete). Douglas 94; Cohn 181.

First edition in book form of the first six parts of Cruikshank's Sketch Book, uncolored and with the extra printed title-page, as issued. Binding with some discoloration to the joints where they've been professionally repaired/reinforced, modest wear and spotting to the boards; contents with a hint of darkening to the edges, one plate with two small yellow spots, otherwise very clean and fresh. A handsome copy.
