*ALDIN, Cecil. /FARM-YARD PUPPIES/*. Bound in original illustrated
paper-covered boards. Published by Humphrey Milford, London, and printed
on stiff paper by Thomas Forman and Sons, Nottingham. ND (1911). 1st
edition, unpaginated. Aldin is both the writer and the illustrator.
There are twelve full-page coloured prints of the mischievous puppies
plus several other black-and-while illustrations.

An early Aldin "puppy" tale. No date of publication is shown but our
research indicates that the book was published in 1911. It contains
twelve full-page illustrations, each signed in the plate by Aldin with
his distinctive signature. There is a 13th illustration of the two
puppies on the front board, under the title, which is printed in bright
red letters. The boards are rubbed at the edges, with small loss to the
tips, and some light scuffing and soiling. The hinges are tight but the
text block has partially separated from the spine. Each illustration is
accompanied by a poem (dare we say "doggerel"?). There has been some
off-setting of the coloured illustrations to the following pages, but it
is neither untoward nor extensive. Several pages have fingerprint
smudges. Overall, the book remains in good condition.

Price: $175.00.
