Octavo; pp; 41, (i); Illustrated with a tipped on color woodblock plate frontispiece and three additional color plates and thirteen black and white plates; Japanese block stitched textured gray paper covers with a printed rice paper title label on the front cover; a bit of damp staining along the top edges else very good or better.

This copy inscribed by the author and dated 1958. Paul Jacoulet (1896–1960) was a French, Japan-based woodblock print artist known for a style that mixed the traditional ukiyo-e style and techniques developed by the artist himself. Laid in is a lovely broadside advertisement listing the other publications of the Foreign Affairs Assn. Of Japan.
