With the Unreasonable Conditions and Demands that the French King would have put on the Duke of Savoy, and of the Just Causes and Motives, that induced that Duke to break off from the French Interest, and Joyn with the Confederates. Together with the most Memorable Occurrences that hath since happen’d there. As also the True Copies of all the Letters and Dispatches that passed between them. London: Printed for R. Baldwin, near the Oxford-Arms, in Warwick-Lane, MDCXCI [1691]. [BOUND WITH:] [An Historical Account of the Most Remarkable Transactions betwixt the Duke of Savoy and the French King: Contained in several Letters pass’d betwixt them before the Rupture. Translated from the original French copies. London: Printed for Richard Baldwin, near the Oxford-Arms in Warwick-Lane, MDCXC [1690].]

FIRST EDITIONS. Two works bound together; small 4to (19.5 cm); [2], 64pp.; 3-34, [2] pp. (the second work lacking the title-page). ESTC R14346, Wing S5304A (for the first title); ESTC R4787, Wing H2097 (for the second title).
Two works dealing with the War of the Grand Alliance (1688-97) and in particular the tensions between Victor Amadeus II, Duke of Savoy, and Louis XIV of France. Disbound (i.e., extracted from a bound collection at some point) but all the leaves are securely bound together; some soiling and darkening to the top edges of the first and last several leaves, otherwise the contents are very clean, bright and fresh; second work bound without the title-page, but with the terminal leaf of publisher's adverts. The first work, in particular, is quite uncommon: ESTC locates only 4 copies in the UK and 4 in U.S.
