COOPER, James Fenimore. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS). n.p., n.d.. A
one-page (4-1/2" x 7-1/8") AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED as "J. Fenimore
Cooper" by the author of THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS written completely in
French regarding a dinner invitation, @60 words. Addressed on the verso
to a Monsieur Le Marquis de Martois at the Place de la Madelaine in
Paris. A few small light stains, about Fine.
James Fenimore Cooper was a prolific and popular American writer. From
1826 to 1833, Cooper and his family lived in Europe, where he sought to
gain more income from his books as well as to provide a better education
for his children. This letter was likely written during that time.
