First edition, one of 100 copies with the proof plates on India paper, hand-numbered and initialed by the engraver and publisher. Tall 8vo (24.5 cm), untrimmed, in early/original cloth boards recently rebacked in goatskin, gilt-lettered spine label; top page edges gilt; xii, 120 pp. (pages unnumbered). Cohn 815.

A collection of Cruikshankian odds and ends: drawings, sketches, etchings, doodles, etc., some of which were at one time intended to illustrate his autobiography. Binding bumped/worn at the upper fore-corners; bottom fore-corner of front (blank) endpaper torn away; area of browning/offsettting to the title-page, toning to the deckled edges of the leaves, occasional light scattered foxing; one text leaf with additional penciled commentary by a previous owner; else clean and sound, firmly bound.
