First Edition; duodecimo; vi, (7)-230, (26, 12) ads. with half-title. engraved frontispiece portrait, additional engraved title with hand-colored vignette of a monkey; thirty, (30) hand-colored engraved plates of monkeys, text illustrations; tipped-in errata slip; tan cloth boards, green endpapers; externally a poor copy, lacking the spine, signatures separated but complete with all pages and plates present; Some light foxing. Previous owner’s bookplate, John C. Allen. Complete copies are a bit scarce in today’s market.
