The uncommon first English-language edition of this examination of the passions by a woman who knew them well. She was also very familiar with the excesses of the French Revolution, having remained in Paris through much of the tumult until finally exiled by Napoleon. Contents evenly age-toned with offsetting/browning to the edges of the first and last 2-3 leaves, a few occasional small spots; two leaves with chips to the margins, not affecting any text; otherwise clean and sound, firmly bound.
