DISCUSSION: A folio-sized catalogue of choice carpets from the
collection
of lifelong rug dealer Elia Perez. A native of Turkey, Perez opened his
first gallery in Amsterdam just after the First World War, and in 1936
opened a gallery in London. The specimens illustrated and described here
are almost all oriental rugs, with some early English and French rugs
and
needlework added as well.
black & white plates. Finely bound by Zaehnsdorf in full turquoise
leather
with elaborate gilt designs, in a matching quarter-leather case.
CONDITION NOTES: The slipcase has some minor scuffing and wear,
otherwise
fine and clean.
