open for its seventh season on January Thirty-first, 1903.... E.B. Moore,
Proprietor. Asheville: E.B. Moore, 1903. First Edition. (12)pp; illustrated
throughout from photographs, and a floor plan of the hotel. Decorative,
embossed green wrappers. 7" x 4.5"  Inked on the title-page: "Compliments
of E.E. Marsh."  Very Good. Original Wrappers.
Erected in 1892 when the town was called Biltmore, North Carolina, the
Kenilworth Inn boasted of its proximity to the Vanderbilt Mansion, stating
that it was "the most superbly furnished house south of New York City."  As
a destination for golfing, two pages of text are devoted to describing the
Kenilworth course. Private baths, electric lights and steam heat are
offered, with the admonition: "No consumptives accommodated under any
