A cornerstone of the Golden Age of English color plate books as well as a true publishing phenomenon, this lively tour of late-Georgian urban life spawned countless imitations, dramatizations, plagiarisms, sequels and spin-offs. Boards somewhat darkened and rubbed, light soiling, corners bumped; mild foxing to the title-page and frontispiece, a few stray spots elsewhere, else exceptionally clean, fresh and bright, with wide untrimmed margins as issued. A handsome, just about Fine copy in the very uncommon original pictorial boards.
