Cara, Petrus (or Pietro). VIRTUTI ET AETERNITATI CONSECRATUM, Aureae, Lucule[n]tiss. q[ue] Petri Carae... Orationes... Joannes Bremius Lectori... (Augusta Taurinorum [i.e., Turin]: P. P. Porrus. Novem., 1520). 4to. ff.(6),118. Title leaf (A1) and A2 both within a fine woodcut border. Cont. blind tooled calf, rebacked at an early date. Extremities rather worn and two of the tooled ornaments on the front cover have been effaced, those on the back cover are fine.  Overall quite sound.    $1,250.00 (trade discount allowed)
A very scarce title by Petrus Cara (1440?-1499), Italian lawyer and politician. The text, edited by Joannes Bremius, is a group of speeches, addresses, and letters in medieval and modern Latin. The printer, Pietro Paolo Porro, printed very few books. Adams C617. BM Italian STC p.147.
