Utah / Hunter, Kelly.  PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM OF 92 VERNACULAR IMAGES OF UTAH IN
1919-1923. Original photograph album. This album contains 92
black-and-white photographs, most affixed with paper corner mounts to
leaves of heavy black stock, and a few laid in. Most of the photographs are
4.5" x 2.75", and some are captioned by hand in white ink. Bound in black
cloth over flexible boards, string-tied spine. 7" x 11.25" Very Good.
Subjects of the photographs include: Salt Lake City houses and their
tenants; country scenes; Chicago, Summer 1923; Our house at Mutual; boys
dressed as WWI soldiers; Provo train station, 1919 etc.; Hains, Utah, 1920;
Main Street and Our House; Helper, Utah; City Creek Canyon; Melba (young
woman); early automobiles; family members; river and gorge; suspension
bridge; waterfall; monuments and public buildings; steamboat; birdseye
views; hikers in high-top boots; horseback riders; State Police;
coal-mining towns on the Utah Line of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway; &c.
Many of the snapshots of family and friends are unusually animated, and
some have jocular comments on the versos. Laid in is an Ideal Photo Service
folder from Midvale, Utah, with a receipt made out to Kelly Hunter.
