LIMITED EDITION of 1,000 copies, designed by Graham Macintosh and
printed in Santa Barbara by Macintosh & Young. Born in Yorkshire,
England, David Magee had a 50-year career as an antiquarian bookseller,
primarily in San Fransisco, California. He averaged just over one
subject catalogue per annum; these catalogues continue to be used as
references by book dealers, collectors and librarians. He also produced
two collections of _Notes to the Neophyte_ cataloguer, which are prized
for their tongue-in-cheek chastisement of the funny things that book
sellers write in their catalogs. The two volumes were collected for this
first time in this tribute volume put together by his colleagues in the
Northern California Chapter of the ABAA in the year of his death.
