laureate William Meredith:
WILBUR, Richard and SMITH, William Jay. VERSES ON THE TIMES. n.p.,
[1978]. First Edition. A scarce ephemeral piece, one sheet folded in
half, publishing verses each author would write on the other's copy of
the New York Times when one of them picked up the paper at the local
store. INSCRIBED and SIGNED on the title page by Smith for the poet
William Meredith. Laid in is a brief AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED by Smith to
Meredith. In the original envelope addressed to Meredith by Smith's
wife, Sonja, who wrote the introduction. Internal offsetting from the
cardboard used to protect the pamphlet in mailing, still Near Fine.
