(12),242,(2)pp. Double page folding woodcut, here in facsimile on old paper. With blank leaf A6 and final leaf with errata, and the woodcut illustration meant to correct p. 145, intact. Device of Petri on the verso. Title page with a large woodcut, and text profusely illustrated with many dozen scientific woodcuts. Early vellum, spine titled by hand. Old faded dampstain at inner margin in sections, but generally a clean copy. Later cloth ties.    $4,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
The first edition of Muenster's (1489-1552) uncommon final published work. The text of the first part deals with geometry largely as applied to surveying and ballistics. The second part starting at p. 69 is an extensive treatise on sundials and horology. Some of the woodcut illustrations are attributed to Hans Holbein the Younger.
