Anonymous. WOMAN'S SCRAPBOOK AND PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM OF A TRIP WITH TWO
FRIENDS TO GETTYSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA, AND WASHINGTON, DC, August 9-17, 1931.
Original album. Contains printed ephemera and original photographs, mounted
to 43 pages of black leaves, in an album of color-pictorial calf and boards
with a view of the Soldiers' Monument at the National Cemetery in
Gettysburg, rawhide ties. Several leaves detached and present. 8" x 11"

This album documents a trip labeled “Buffalo-Washington & Philadelphia,
Aug. 9-17, 1931”, including travel down the “Susquehanna Trail.” The
pictures include about 22 original snapshots of landmarks: historic
buildings, scenic views, etc. Three of the photographs show women in front
of the sites: two women , 3 women, and 7 women. Other material includes
many postcards (some color), small professional photos from a labeled set,
cut photos from magazines and brochures, and a few printed ephemeral pieces
from periodicals (e.g. “History of the Battle of Gettysburg”) and a small
broadsheet on the Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama. Places depicted in this
album include: Gettysburg (6 pp.); The Susquehanna Trail (4 pp. including a
printed map and two pages showing Indian Echo Cave); Hershey, PA (1 p.);
Washington, DC. (14 pp.); Mt. Vernon (6 pp.); and Arlington & Alexandria,
VA (3 pp.). Several other pages depict sights at Philadelphia and Valley
