An Oxford binding (tools identified in Pearson's OXFORD BOOKBINDING 1500-1600). With medieval text manuscript end leaves (front and back) used as binder's waste. A very nice copy.    $1,000.00
The first edition. Sixt Birck (1501-1554) was an important German humanist, scholar & playwright. This uncommon work is a critical study of Cicero texts "De Natura Deorum" and "Paradoxa Stoicorum." VD 16, B5565. Adams B847 (under "Betuleius, Xystus").
