Small manuscript archive (5 pieces), from the "California Battalion," Fort Thomas, Arizona, Feb-March, 1888, consisting of 2 autograph letters of Lieutenant and Adjutant, Leighton Finley to the commanding officer of the battalion, Major Laurie, relating to Lieut. Finley's complaint and charge against the Battalion Quartermaster, Lieut. Robert D. Read, Jr. Also, Finley's official autograph "Charge and specifications preferred against Robert D. Read, Jr." The charge was for "conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, in violation of the 62d Article of War."
