(28),344pp. With a fine impression of the famous portrait of Serra among the natives, but lacking the original engraved map. In this copy the map is supplied by a folding photographic facsimile. Orig. vellum. Some old worming at lower inner margin, occasionally touching a letter. Some light text soiling, and a 1/2" round oil lamp stain, on the title page. With the bookplate of Eva Scott Fenyes (1849-1930), collector of Spanish colonial history and conservator of the California missions.    $4,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
The issue with the catchword "pro" at the end of the index. This work is noted as the most extensive early work on Upper California, and the key work on the life of Father Serra (1713-1784), founder of the first missions in California. ZAMORANO 80, #59.
