Titles printed in red & black. A contemporary binding, finely bound by Riviere in full green morocco, ornately gilt spine and paneled covers, with gold leaf ornament on spine and covers. A.e.g. A beautiful, fine set, with the small leather bookplate Henry William Poor, and the paper bookplate of Charles Louis Fleischmann.    $2,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
The first "Nicolas edition," edited by Sir Harris Nicolas, with illustrations by the foremost artists of the day. Horne states, "It has been acclaimed as the finest ANGLER ever published." It was the first edition to be divided into days, and contains many editor's notes and comments, and has new material on Walton and Cotton. One of Pickering's most famous publications. The "large paper" set was published at 10 guineas.
