8vo. 10 1/4 x 7 inches. [ii], (12) pp. Title page and text printed in
black and red inks, title page printed within an elaborate woodcut
border, Plantin Press golden compass printer's mark in red on page 1,
decorative initial "D" in red on page 3 and headpiece in black on page 5
are wood engravings made by Ilya Schor, all other engravings were by
Henry Shire, lists 50 items shown in the exhibition, typographic
tailpiece in red, printer's mark on the colophon; text clean, unmarked.
Added binding of quarter brown leather, gray cloth over boards, covers
ruled in gilt, spine titled in gilt, plastic dust jacket; binding square
and tight, jacket chipped with some loss on the rear panel. Binder's
errata slip bound-in inside rear cover, SIGNED by the binder stamped in
gilt at the bottom of the rear paste-down is illegible to me. Laid in is
a bifold entitled "Western Americana Printed at the Plantin Press for
Dawson's Book Shop, Los Angeles" printed in red and black and
illustrated with an order form and return envelope. Fine.

of the Plantin Press of Saul and Lillian Marks, on the occasion of the
25th anniversary of the establishment of the press; the exhibition
attempted to "encompass the full range of work normally engaged in by
