LIMITED EDITION of 165 copies, this is number 95, printed by John Henry
Nash for private distribution only. First line: "The Ideal Book or Book
Beautiful is a composite thing made up of many parts and may be made
beautiful by the beauty of each of its parts - its literary content, its
material or materials, its writing or printing, its illumination or
illustration, its binding and decorations - of each of its parts in
subordination to the whole which collectively they constitute...." So
begins Cobden-Sanderson's influential treatise on the ideal book which
inspired may fine and private press printers since its publication in
1900, reproduced here by San Francisco's John Henry Nash.
