BARNUM, P. T. STRUGGLES AND TRIUMPHS; OR, SIXTY YEARS' RECOLLECTIONS. 
Buffalo: Courier Company, 1889. Early Edition. One of several editions 
of one of the most famous American autobiographies by one of the world's 
most sensational entrepreneurs. This is a special copy in a full black 
morocco leather publisher's presentation binding with gilt decorations 
on the spine and Barnum's gilt signature on the front cover; 360 pages. 
Illustrated with 43 engravings. This copy is INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the 
author "To my friend & neighbor/George Mallory, Esq./With kind regards 
to all/his tribe/P. T. Barnum" and dated 5 July 1890. Mallory was one of 
the founders of Wheeler & Wilson of Bridgeport, manufacturer of sewing 
machines, later purchased by Singer. Mallory's sons built the Madison 
Square Theatre in 1879, known as the coziest and prettiest house in New
