Thompson, Benjamin Franklin. Book Notices, No. 4, A Manuscript Diary,
June 8, 1876 - April 26, 1880. (Keene NH: Manuscript Diary), 1876-1880.
Unique manuscript. Small octavo; pp; 82; marbled paper wrappers, lined
composition book; Very good. Wraps.

Very legibly written record of books read by this 19th century reader.
Each entry cites the author & the title of the work and comments as to
plot line, or historical narrative. The writer is a well educated person
and they write well. Among the books discussed are Sherman's Memoirs;
Castle of Otranto; Adam Bede; Rankes' History Of The Popes; History Of
American Currency; Martineau's History of England; Romola; Bancroft's
United States; Through The Dark Continent; Parton's Life Of Burr & others;

While his title label says No. 4 this is the only one we have to sell.
