To Which Are Now Added, The Declaration of Rights... London: J. Stockdale. 1783. 8vo. (4),xxix,(3),367,(1),401-472,(4)pp. as issued. The final 3 pages are ads. Copper engraved frontispiece portrait of George Washington. Orig. mottled calf, red morocco spine label. Some light chipping at spine extremities, and a few small losses to the front hinge, but both covers are quite sound.    $2,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
The second British edition, first state without the words "second edition" on the title page. The first British edition of 1782 was only 168 pages, and issued without a portrait. The 1783 printing has significant additions including several important treaties and the "Declaration of Rights." Many copies are found lacking the portrait and/or "The Appendix" (pp. 441-472).
