Memoires de Messire Philippe de Comines, seigneur d'Argenton, ou l'on trouve l'Histoire des Rois de France Louis XI. & Charles VIII. Nouvelle edition, revue sur plusieurs Manuscrits du tems, enrichie de Notes & de Figures, avec un Recueil de Traites, Lettres, Contrats & Instructions, utiles pour l'Histoire, & necessaires pour l'etude du Droit Public & du Droit des Gens. Par Messieurs Godefroy. Augmentee par M. l'abbe Lenglet du Fresnoy. Londres, et se trouve a Paris: chez Rollin fils, 1747. Four volumes, 4to (26 cm), in early/period calf; engraved frontispiece, portraits and vignette, woodcut head- and tail-pieces and initials, folding tables. Brunet II, 191.

Spines rubbed, scuffed and darkened, corners bumped, joints cracked with one board detached and another loosening; toning to the leaves with cockling to the text blocks as is typical of books of the period, scattered light spotting and occasional small stains, otherwise quite clean and sound. Front endpapers with several ownership marks of the ancient and prominent Ogle family of Northumberland, England: engraved armorial bookplates bearing the family motto "Prenes en Gre," later ownership signature of Sophia Ogle, dated 1858, and bookplates of Anne Charlotte Ogle, dated 1909.
