The first edition of Serres' text which covers his commentary on the period, Sept. 1557 to Jan. 1562. In 1571 Crespin printed an expanded version with a new title: COMMENTARIORUM DE STATU RELIGIONIS ET REIPUBLICAE IN REGNO GALLIAE which added two new parts. The second title of our volume, the SUPPLICATIO of 24pp. was meant to be added to the 1570 RERUM IN GALLIA but many copies do not have it bound together, and it is also found by itself. See Gilmont's BIBLIOGRAPHIE DES EDITIONS DE JEAN CRESPIN pp. 231-233 and p. 242.
