The rare second edition, after the Florence, 1504 first edition. It is the final printing in the author's lifetime (d. 1530), and this 1528 Antwerp edition is the only printing to contain two eclogues by Gaurico, added at the end of the book (also, these do not appear in the third edition of 1542). This is an important early treatise on art, sculpture, physiognomy, classical literature, and aesthetics. It has been called the first printed book describing the principles of perspective. The 1528 printing is edited by Cornelius Grapheus.
