Robinson. 1795. 12mo. xii,212pp. Including the translator's preface "written at Paris, amidst the horrors of Robespierre's tyranny." Cont. straight grained green morocco spine over boards (rubbed). 2" at the foot of the spine covered with old dark green tape.    $300.00 (trade discount allowed)
The scarce first edition of Williams' translation printed in England. The true first English translation by Williams appeared in the same year, but without place or publisher (probably printed in Paris where the translator was living).  It contained 274pp. and 6 plates.
