CRANE, Stephen. THE LITTLE REGIMENT AND OTHER EPISODES OF THE AMERICAN
CIVIL WAR. New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1896. First Edition.
Original decorated tan cloth. BAL 4076: First Printing. A collection of
stories that like his famous THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE are centered
around the Civil War. In addition to the title story, the book includes
"Three Miraculous Soldiers," "A Mystery of Heroism," "An Indiana
Campaign," "A Gray Sleeve," and "The Veteran." An interesting full-page
December 1896 owner inscription on the front endpaper to his sister
about her dislike of Crane. Covers soiled with some loss of color,
mostly on the rear and spine. Very Good. (#018343) $125.00
