The first work in an early edition of the "Meditations" of Ferrari, a learned Jesuit who wrote important works on many subjects such as a Syriac dictionary and  treatises on both fruits  flowers. Included in the meditations are essays on the character of Loyola, Francis Xavier, Catherine of Sienna, etc. The second work is a popular treatise on love reprinted many times in the 17th century.
