Page [5] bears a subtitle ("To break up any vicious habit") printed on a strip of paper, tipped-in and presumably added after the book was printed but before it was published. Bumping and wear to the corners, binding a little tender, one plate loose; a few faint stains and scattered light fingering, early owner's signature to the front flyleaf (William Bowditch, Jefferson, 1899).
