Stephens, Alexander H.  A CONSTITUTIONAL VIEW OF THE LATE WAR BETWEEN THE
STATES; it's Causes, Character, Conduct and Results presented in a series
of Colloquies at Liberty Hall.  In Two Volumes.  Philadelphia: National
Publishing Co., (1868-1870).  First edition thus.

Two volumes, bound as one, thick octavo. 654pp with index, engraved
frontispiece view and six portraits + 827pp with index, 9 engraved
portraits, and facsimiles of two Lincoln autograph letters signed and one
Alexander Stephens ALS, and a Map of Manassas facing page 472.  Bound in
half-calf and marbled boards, decorated spine panels, black leather labels,
marbled endpapers and edges; boards moderately rubbed, spotty foxing at
plates.  9.5" x 6".
