Two volumes, bound as one, thick octavo. 654pp with index, engraved
frontispiece view and six portraits + 827pp with index, 9 engraved
portraits, and facsimiles of two Lincoln autograph letters signed and one
Alexander Stephens ALS, and a Map of Manassas facing page 472. Bound in
half-calf and marbled boards, decorated spine panels, black leather labels,
marbled endpapers and edges; boards moderately rubbed, spotty foxing at
plates. 9.5" x 6".
