First edition; Quarto; pp; 20 unnumbered leaves, every other leaf is blank; hand-colored illustrations from sketches taken "en route" by Isabel D; pictorial tan boards, featuring the black and white version of the colored title page; Publisher's ad on outside lower cover for “King Nutcracker” by the author of “Struwwelpeter”; Account of a voyage from England to India, told in the form of a rhyming alphabet; gift inscription on front free endpaper dated 1854; Condition issues; spine worn away, boards detached but present with all preliminaries and following leaves, top edges boards chipped as are the very top edges of the leaves but not affecting any text, lacks the last leaf, “X Y Z”.
