An original 1940 High School yearbook from Kurt Vonnegut's Senior year at
Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, with images of Vonnegut as
follows: Vonnegut's individual photograph shown among other individual
photographs of 1940 Senior Class members; as a member of the Editorial
Staff; as a member of the Student Council, as a member of the Social
Committee, and, individually, as an Uglyman — one of the School's most
popular Senior boys of 1940.Vonnegut later described Shortridge as his
"dream of an America with great public schools."In Very Good condition with
some wear and soiling to the boards, a bit of soiling here and there, and a
light tide mark to the outer portion of about 10 or so of the final leaves,
this copy is signed by George Schricker on the Music Page (with a line
pointing to him) and by eleven others on the page dedicated to
Autographs.Established in 1864 as Indiana's first free High School, the
