to John Fulton by his Friends on his Sixtieth Birthday, 1 November 1959.
New Haven: Yale University, 1959.  First Edition.  69pp, colophon;
frontispiece portrait of Fulton.  Bound in red cloth and blue boards, gilt
spine lettering and shamrock on cover.  Limited to 1,000 copies. 9" x 6".
Very Good condition.

Presentation inscription to J. Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967), written on
front endpaper in blue ink: "To Robert Oppenheimer / on the day of the Hoyt
Lecture / In esteem and affection / [signed] John Fulton / 9 December
1959."  Laid in is a handwritten note from the Secretary of Yale
University--"With the warm appreciation and admiration of all of us
[signed] R.A. Holden."

Also laid in is Oppenheimer's pay stub from Yale--"12/2/59 ... $350.00 ...
Hoyt Lecture on 12/9/59." [John Fulton was one of the three founders of the
Historical Library at Yale.]  $250.00
