Binding is signed, "J. B. Hawes, Cambridge." This copy inscribed on a preliminary blank, "A. Macmillan with the regards of Henry W. Longfellow. Sept. 28, 1867." A. Macmillan is Alexander Macmillan (1818-1896) one of the two brothers who founded the great publishing house of Macmillan. A fine copy.                 $1,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
