Illustrated; Frontispiece is a fine original portrait etching of Bacon
by Anders Zorn, and sixty-three (63) fine mounted color plates and
photogravures of Chinese porcelain and pottery; three quarter brown
polished morocco and marbled paper covered boards, marbled endpapers,
raised bands, gilt spine lettering, top edge gilt;
Internally fine and complete with bright plates; boards detached but
present, spine dry and cracked, desiccated. A candidate for rebinding or
at least rebacking;
This copy bears the bookplate of Dave Hennen Morris of New York.
David Hennen "Dave" Morris (1872 -- 1944) was an American lawyer,
diplomat, and Thoroughbred racehorse owner who co-founded the
International Auxiliary Language Association (IALA).From 1933 to 1937,
he was the United States Ambassador to Belgium and Envoy to Luxembourg.
