Good evening to all, Karen Cinquemani H.A.S. Beane Books

Cushing, Harvey Williams (1869-1939) & Percival Bailey (1892-1973).
Tumors Arising from the Blood-vessels of the Brain: Angiomatous
Malformations and Hemangioblastomas. Springfield, IL & Baltimore, MD:
Charles C. Thomas, 1928. First Edition [one of 1,000 copies] Tall octavo.
x, 219 pp. 159 figures, Index. Publisher/Printers (Lakeside Press)
statement on last page. Navy blue cloth with narrow rules board edges;
spine lettering only barely legible. Good condition. Spine edges and
corner tips worn; a few small, faint water splotches on front & rear;
large bookplate removed from front paste down leaving dark glue marks.
Contents mildly age-toned, slight ripple along top edge of first few
pages. Clean and without any marks or previous owner names. No evidence
this was a library copy. A perfect candidate for a new, handsome leather
binding.

Harvey Cushing (1869-1939) shared authorship of this important medical
monograph with youthful neurosurgeon and psychiatrist Percival Bailey
(1892-1973). It is "the first extensive classification and description of
angiomatous malformations and hemangioblastomas. The detailed and
profusely illustrated case reports are, like all of Cushing’s case
reports, a course of instruction in themselves.” [Heirs of Hippocrates
2272].
"A beautifully illustrated monograph based on 29 cases of one of the
rarest and most interesting groups of intracranial tumors"--Cushing
Society 13.

WorldCat reports 75 libraries worldwide holding the first American
edition. Few first American editions are found for sale or auction.
