Hichborn, U.S.N., Chief Constructor, Philip. Standard Designs for Boats 
of the United States Navy: Specifications, Schedule of Material, Weights 
and Cost. Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1900. First 
edition; oblong quarto; pp; 96, indices; profusely illustrated with two 
hundred twenty-two plates including photographs and measured line 
drawings and plans, and five tables;  three quarter black morocco and 
black pebbled cloth covered boards lettered in gilt; This copy signed by 
a "P. B. Blanchard, 1936" on a front free fly leaf; this copy was the 
property of the Panama Railroad Company and has several modest stamps 
stating that fact interspersed throughout the book; a binder's stamp 
from "Ye Olde Record Binding Company" of New York has fabricated this 
binding which is rubbed at the extremities, spine ends, edges and 
corners, internally very good or better; A scarce piece with an 
interesting provenance!

There are no copies of the original being offered in the Trade 
currently, there are facsimile (Martino) reprints from about $250 and 
the only auction record is 1996 @$190
