(8),132pp. Added engraved title printed in gray with a mounted  circular photograph. Additonally illustrated with 15 albumen prints, each with a guard leaf, and 11 text drawings. Original elaborately gilt decorated brown cloth. A.e.g. Very minor fraying at front hinge, and a small faded water stain on rear cover, but still a fine bright copy. Though the imprint is 1865, a full-page gift inscription on a blank preliminary is dated, "Xmas 1864." This title was published as a pretty Christmas "gift book".                     $600.00 (trade discount allowed)
