MARU.  Japan: Toyo Kisen Kaisha, [1911].  First Edition. 12pp; full-page
and half-page photograph and caption on each page, tissue guards; scattered
foxing.

Views of the house include:  Entrance "Kurumayose" to Main Building of Mr.
Asano's Residence, No. 16 Tamachi, Gochome, Shiba-ku, Tokyo; Ceiling of
"Tsuzurenonishiki" (figured brocade) in Hall of Reception Room, showing
celebrated views of Japan; 3rd floor and 3rd floor staircase with painted
wall of cherry blossoms by Kawai Gyokudo, a leading Japanese artist; Left
wing of house and Water-fall; &c. Scattered foxing. String-tied wrappers,
floral design on front cover, flag of Oriental Steamship Co. on back cover.
Printed on cover: "With the compliments of the Toyo Kisen Kaisha." 7.75" x
9"  Very Good condition.

The "Shinyo Maru" was a triple-screw turbine steamer, delivered in 1911 for
the Hong Kong to San Francisco service. The ship was scrapped in 1936,
according to Bjorn Larsson's online account of the Oriental Steamship
Company.  $75.00
